Sandwell District have announced the end of their activities as a live act and label per January 1, 2012: “Regular audio communications from Sandwell District will cease," says the outfit on its blog. "All vinyl artefacts have been decommissioned.”
Furthermore, the message reads that “through live actions — which will continue to expand into new sonic territory — in addition to audio / print installations as previously witnessed in New York, Los Angeles, Gdansk, Bialystok, Berlin and London. “Stasis is death. See you on the other side.”” Looks like we haven't heard the last of it after all...
The Sandwell District project was launced mid-2000 and soon grew out to become one of the most exciting acts in house and techno, not least because of their excellent 2010 album, Feed-Forward.
