Not all metal rock bands are created equal. Such is the case with Megadeth as they took to the stage during their Gigantour show at Phoenix, Arizona's Comerica Theatre on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Lead singer, Dave Mustaine, channeled the rock Gods from above and masterfully headlined a performance of mega proportions filled with big music, big lights and big hair. Touring with Motörhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil could make it difficult to stand out from the rest, but Megadeth effortlessly pulled it off.
The metal rock powerhouse foursome, originally from Los Angeles, California, have been rockin' the airwaves since 1983 and shown exactly why they have the most devout followers around the world. This four-piece band with their signature wild hair, lyrics and brazen energy, comprise a gifted powerhouse of a group.
Megadeth poured out their hearts and souls with a setlist complete with musical renditions such as:
"Trust"
"Foreclosure Of A Dream"
"Hangar 18"
"Skin O' My Teeth"
"She-Wolf"
"Public Enemy No. 1"
"Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)"
"Guns, Drugs & Money"
"Ashes In Your Mouth"
"Hook In Mouth"
"A Tout Le Monde"
"Symphony Of Destruction"
"Peace Sells"
encore
"Holy Wars...The Punishment Due"
Chris Broderick's lead guitar antics (including headbanging his luscious locks) personified Megadeth's legacy as not just a leading hair band but a talented faction of artists. Shawn Drover (drummer) and Dave Ellefson (bassist) rounded out the rhythm section with their feverish fury of drum and bass collaborations. Megadeth has proven again that they can withstand the test of time and are definitely here to stay. They are truly a force to be reckoned with and will be carrying the torch for countless years to come. If you want to see how truly amazing this band is, go to their website at www.megadeth.com.
