Melt! 2011: Latest Info & Updates

imageMelt! -
Melt!, probably the very best European festival, has added White Lies, Digitalism, and The Naked And The Famous to its already impressive lineup. Read on for more details about this not-to-be-missed event!

Melt! has become one of the world's leading festival not only because of its hugely impressive location, but first and foremost because of its groundbreaking lineup that combines seasoned acts to up and coming talents. The organization has just issued more information on newly added acts, its M!Eco initiative, stage hosts and much more...

M!Eco
Once again, the environment will be one of Melt!'s most important headliners this year. In 2010, the organization already started its environmental endeavours with M!Eco. Together with the Green Music Initiative, various projects to reduce CO2 emissions were developed. Several bus and train offers as well as the hotel train, which rode to Ferropolis for the first time in 2010, made it possible that many festivalgoers decided to leave their cars at home. This year, energy-saving measures will be on the agenda as well! Further info will be available soon.

White Lies
White Lies are among the latest acts to rock the festival with their post-punk meets dark wave sound. The London-based outfit have made quite a nme for themsleves over the past few years, so expect a mass gathering in front of their stage this year.

Digitalism
Digitalism are among the few acts that have been there since the very beginning of Melt! Even before the actual festival the Hamburg duo Jens “Jence” Moelle and Ismail “Isi” Tüfekci performed at the Berlin-based Melt! Klub Weekender, and the fact that they've been invited to play at the festival for the fourth time should be enough proof that they mean business.

The Naked And The Famous
It doesn't happen too often that a band is highly praised even before it releases its debut. Such is the case with this New Zealand band, which has earned them a spot among the newcoming acts to perform at Melt!

Exciting collabos...
Melt! Festival's also known for its many co-operations with other artists. Modeselektor will be curating a Melt! Selektor Stage for two days in a row and labels Live At Robert Johnson as well as Bpitch Control will be taking over Sleepless Floor. Melt! will also have the Total Confusion party at Big Wheel up our sleeves and an additional special celebrating the legendary Detroit techno label Planet E with label boss Carl Craig DJing back to back with Radio Slave - joined by label mate Loco Dice.

Many festivalgoers will be pleased to hear about Melt!'s continuing co-operation with Ostgut Ton, the label connected to Berlin's Berghain club. The label's about to take over Big Wheel Stage for four hours on Sunday – yes, there's a Sunday at Big Wheel, folks. The Ostgut line-up will soon be announced. Big Wheel Sunday will also see Guy Gerber, who decided to work with P.Diddy on his new album, conquering the stage.

Last but not least, we planned a small but nice Dial Records homage at Big Wheel on Saturday. The full line-up reads as follows: Lawrence, John Roberts, Pawel & RNDM and Redshape presents Palisade (live).

Melt! will have six stages with over 120 artists performing in July.
