Mark Fell To Release New LP On Editions Mego

Sheffield based experimental artist Mark Fell only recently announced a new album entitled Multistability but he has already announced another LP. The experimental UL8 is due to be released this December on Editions Mego.

Just as most of Mark Fell's solo material this LP will be a experimental affair, this time focusing on the Celestion UL8 speaker. Mark Fell explains: "My older brother bought a pair of these when I was starting comprehensive school, and between his 10cc and Supertramp records I first encountered electronically synthesized sound at high volumes." These electronically synthesized sounds varied from Kraftwerk to Human League and Fad Gadget. This formed the base of his obsessions with electronic textures and soundscapes.

The album features 19 untitled tracks which are spread out over three different sections and the track Death of a Loved One. "The tracks here replicate the simple monosynth and drum machine equation; and have, to a large extent, been made with and for the UL8," says Fell. His UL8 will be released December 15th on the Editions Mego imprint.
