The Slowpoke crew keep up the good work this February, with trippy disco and house man Mark E and the warm but techy sounds of Wbeeza (LIVE).

Slowpoke is back this Valentines weekend, this time at Stoke Newington’s Bar A Bar on Friday 12th February. And should you feel the need to dance your Valentines weekend away, there are few better places to get started than right here – this is a party that’s winning fans for its injection of a slice of funk into the London house & techno scene.

They’ve certainly picked two great DJs for the night; Running Back / Merc man Mark E’s sets are always filled with all kinds of grooves (but when we met him at his recent gig at fabric for Disco Bloodbath, he said he was feeling more house these days, so you never know), while Wbeeza’s recent album on Third Ear, Void, showed what a wide-ranging artist he has already become. Plus he's playing live so he'll be making beats as he plays, which should be pretty special.

But while DJs are a vital part of any club night, it’s just as important to get a good vibe going. ‘We always aim for a warm and unhurried atmosphere,’ Slowpoke's Brian Monaco told us, ‘Both Mark E and Wbeeza will help to create that atmosphere in different ways, each offering a different take on our sound. Most importantly, they have each crafted their own recognizable sound which is something we look for when booking our guests.’ Sounds like a winning combination to us...
