London's Disco Bloodbath Meets San Francisco’s Honey Soundsystem

If Disco Bloodbath are one of the most inspired crews werking the London disco scene – and they are – then Honey Soundsystem are their crazier cousins from the San Francisco clubbing scene.  And they’re guesting at DBB on Saturday 3rd July. Location details on the web...

Whereas many clubbers may know SF for the infamous End Up club (where the party really doesn’t stop at the weekends) and as the stomping ground of deep house heads like Doc Martin and Mark Farina, the Honey Soundsystem boys are a newer development in the city’s clubbing lexicon.

Honey’s sound is more disco based, unsurprisingly in the area that gave us hi-energy guru Patrick Cowley, but they’re as contemporary as it gets – recent guests have been Horse Meat Disco, Pilooski and Todd Terje, very much in keeping with a certain East London disco outfit we like a great deal.

‘They just personify the magic combination of sleazed-out disco and bonkers acid house that we hold so dear,’ says Disco Bloodbath's Dan Beaumont about Honey’s appeal. ‘Plus we were all really impressed by their incredible 'Brotherhood' compilation. And we have so many friends in common that it seemed like a perfect fit!’
