Lee J Malcolm To Release Folded SpacesWritten by the B&B Crew Wednesday, 04 May 2011 15:13 News - The first album release on EPM’s own imprint is coming from the hands of Lee J Malcolm. His debut LP, Folded Spaces, follows the recent release of his single OneStar/Applicant and is scheduled for June 20th.
The Leeds based Lee J Malcolm has been very active in the overall music scene. After starting on drums at the age of five, piano and guitar followed soon and at the age of 14 he was recording his own music. Lee has played in all sorts of bands, varying from jazz to rock to punk and folk. He now plays with the experimental rock band Vessels but has been experimenting with electronic music for years as well. His debut LP Folded Spaces is a blend of tribal rhythms, complex structures and analogue melodies, all with a nice dancefloor drive behind it. Going down the track list you’ll come across the track Oh Yeah, which is a cover of the classic art-synth-pop band Yello’s single, which featured in John Hughes 80’s film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. This track will be the next single coming from the album, accompanied by a remix of Ben Sims, and is scheduled for release this month. EPM Music will release Lee J Malcolm’s Folded Spaces June 20th, while the album launch party will be held at Nitsa, Barcelona, June 16th.
