End this month sees revered DJ/producer John Dahlbäck dropping a Best Of compilation. But the big news here is that that the 24-year old prodigy is also about to launch a brand new label: Mutant.
If you've been a regular clubber over the past three years, it's virtually impossible to not have heard a track or remix from one of Sweden's most renowned electrohouse artists. With tracks on Toolroom and Dessous, and soon Defected too, the man has been carving a nice niche for himself in the contemporary music industry. The Mutant label will co-exist alongside his current label Pickadoll. “I will be releasing my own stuff through Mutants as well as the other artists’ tracks, and that could be anyone. If you were to send me a track and I liked it and it had the ‘Mutants’ feeling then I could release it. It doesn’t have to come from the hottest artists of the momentâ€.
John's Best Of compilation will be released on April 26th on Defected.
