All round experimentalist and soul man Jamie Lidell drops his new album Compass on Warp, May 18th. Much like he did on Multiply and Jim, Jamie once again embarks on a new musical trip which features collabs with Beck, Feist, Chris Taylor and more. Cool eh?

With his last album Jim being released two years ago and, fans across the globe have been eagerly anticipating this forthcoming funker. It already promises to be a lot less mainstream than his breakthrough album Multiply, as Compass will fully revolve around experimental funk, soul and electronica.

On the production front (which also includes web collabs), Jamie got help from Gonzales, Chris Taylor, Pat Sansone, Feist and Beck to name but a few. The latter two are no strangers to Lidell since they already did some stuff together in the past, The Reminder Sessions with Feist and Beck's latest project Record Club. Chris Taylor can be heard on the bass clarinet whilst also being one of the album producers.

Like we were not hyped up enough about the release of this new album, we got our hands on a video of "the Ring", one of the tracks on the album. The video has been shot entirely with old vintage cameras which result in well...you can check it below and decide what you think of the new way Lidell is going. We sure as hell dig it.
