James Holden Readies His DJ-KiCKS

The last DJ-KiCKs (by The Juan Maclean) is still stuck in our player but we're already about to see the next installment: James Holden will explore all things techno on the next edition.

Border Community's label boss and renowned producer and DJ James Holden compiled the mix using a PC, Traktor software and some basic gear. The result promises to be a melodic variant of techno like Holden does best (although we haven't heard much from him lately...). The combination of James Holden and DJ-KiCKs seems like a proper match as both are known to churn out prolific material.

After the release of Holden's mix CD on May 24th, June 21st sees founder of Hyperdub Records and dubstep legend Kode9 getting his KiCKS on. Expect a sensational fusion of breaks, bass lines and rapid-fire rhythms (quite the opposite of Holden...) And that's exactly what we at BeatsandBeyond like so much about the DJ-KiCKS series...no boundaries!
