In Memoriam: DJ Mehdi

The Ed Banger artist died following an accident at his house last night...

The hugely popular 34-year old DJ/producer, who was one of the key artists on the Ed Banger imprint, fell through the roof of his house in Paris as he celebrated the birthday of his Carte Blanche partner Riton (who is unhurt) with friends. He passed away a few hours after the incident. Two other people were also hospitalised.

Rumours surrounding Mehdi's death first emerged on Twitter this afternoon and were soon followed by tweets from befriended artists such as Mr. Oizo, A-Trak, Chromeo and Felix Da Housecat in which they paid their respects to the producer. We think Chromeo said it best: 'We lost our brother, no words.'
