Hernán Cattáneo has been mixing the third edition in Renaissance's Master Series compilations, which will be released on July 5th. Hold on, another Cattáneo mix on Renaissance?
Yes, yes it is, but this is not going to be another progressive mix like we've heard so often from Hernán. Truth is that the tracklists do look very diverse, with names such as Sigur Ros, Future Beat Alliance and Way Out West forming a remarkable but undoubtedly interesting blend.
Parallel, as this release is titled, sees Hernan experimenting with more downtempo cuts and a bit of disco on the side. "I felt it was time we took a fresh direction," says Hernán, "but I wasn't sure just what this direction should be... It wasn't til I pitched a Henry Saiz track down (and it sounded brilliant) that I hit upon the idea of dropping everything back 15-20 BPMs on the first disc." The second disc looks like a more clubbier affair with Hernan's typical prog sounds.
