HARD L.A. Festival Cancelled

The HARD L.A. Festival scheduled for this Saturday in Los Angeles State Historic Park has been cancelled. M.I.A. was due to headline the event, next to artists such as Flying Lotus and Sleigh Bells.

The L.A. Times originally reported the festival had been cancelled due to security issues. These issues were said to be caused by the problems at last month's Electric Daisy Carnival in L.A. At Electric Daisy over a 100 people were hospitalized after serious overcrowding issues.

A statement of the HARD promoters though deny that security issues have anything to do with the cancellation of the event. "HARD LA M.I.A. this Saturday July 17 has been canceled, but not due to the lack of support or the full approval from the personnel at the City of Los Angeles and California State Parks who have signed off on our comprehensive security plan." Thus the promoters, which wouldn't comment on a question about slow ticket sales being the cause.

It is a bit of a bummer, but luckily the other upcoming L.A. HARD show, the HARD Summer Music Festival is still scheduled to take place at State Historic Park on August 7. Let's hope that one will see the break of day!
