Happy Days Disco Compilation Launches at PrologueWritten by Manu Ekanayake Wednesday, 01 September 2010 21:51 News - Saturday 4th September sees ace London house night Prologue teaming up with Faith’s Terry Farley and Dave Jarvis – plus Prologue resident & Good Times man, Norman Jay – to launch Happy Days Original Disco Joints Re-Mastered at East Village. So that’s classic disco and funk upstairs, plus Nick Dare (Wiggle), Xi and Kristopher Hall with more contemporary house sounds in the basement. Essential... Happy Days Original Disco Joints is a new compilation series that delves into the world of pre-1988 clubbing. Compiled by London dance music luminaries Terry Farley and Dave Jarvis, these comps explore the musical roots of clubland today – while highlighting some absolutely top tunes in the process, of course. It’s always good to see a house night that’s comfortable acknowledging the music’s varied roots. ‘The Happy Days Disco Funk Joints Re-Mastered Series that Terry and Dave are doing is really the history of our sound,’ explains Prologue’s promoter, Harvey. ‘And where better to hear it than in a club with people who appreciate good house music? ‘You have to remember that Prologue launched at The Cross, which was a three-roomed-venue for four years and we have always done multi-roomed venues since. This taught us that people have varied musical preferences and don’t necessarily go to a club night just to hear one sound.’ Well said Harvey, we couldn’t agree more.
