Google And Facebook Run By CIA, Says M.I.A.

Fresh from releasing a rather explicit video and currently involved in a somewhat embarrassing beef with a NY Times journalist, M.I.A.'s latest targets are Facebook and Google which, according to her, are connected to the government. Great, we haven't heard a good conspiracy plot in a while.

Her opinion on social networking sites? "fucking you up", she says, by which she's referring protection of your personal information. Google is next "All governments are connected to Google," she claims. "Governments can shift their search engines so only what they want you to see comes up. I want kids to be aware of this digital circumstance."

Right, that makes some sense, given the fact that China has been doing quite a bit of web censoring over the past few years, but she definitely is losing it in the next part of her argument: "It makes it difficult for me to interact with my fans knowing that. Google and Facebook were developed by the CIA, and when you're on there, you have to know that." So what's your point M.I.A.? We just googled your name and got zillions of hits. And we haven't had the CIA coming up to us kindly asking to refrain looking for info on you. Hold on, someone's at the door...
