Ezekiel Honig has revealed more details for his new live LP Untitled Folding. The album comes with an oil and watercolour painting on wood, with an accompanying code to download the music.

 

 

It’s not completely clear to us which part is the more important with this one. Are you buying a painting with a free CD, or are you buying an album with a rather large cover? According to Honig himself, the release is "as much about the visual, physical art object as it is about the sound.” He continues; “Rather than tack on a CD to the object, I wanted to call attention to the lack of need for a physical delivery device for the audio, allow it to break free of packaging constraints of any sort, and go a step further than cover art.”

Ezekiel is planning to make 99 of these paintings, and the first are already available on his website. The rest will become available as he finishes them. The music side of things consists of Ezekiel’s live performance at the CD release party of his most recent album, Folding In On Itself. It consists of loops and sounds from that LP reworked and rearranged live.
