Drake Vs Hef

Canadian rapper Drake could be in a beef with the Playboy empire, of all people. They claim he sampled Fallin’ In Love by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, a track owned by Playboy Records, on his breakout hit, Best I Ever Had.  Even Biggie Vs Tupac never involved the Hef...

The Guardian reported this week that Drake, ‘hip-hop’s most melancholy Casanova’ could be in legal trouble with Playboy. The London broadsheet say that company has filled legal docs saying that Drake his labels and distributors  â€˜either knew or should have reasonably known’ that Best I Ever Had samples  Fallin’ In Love, which was the Playboy Records’ only ever pop hit when it topped the US charts 35 years ago.

And Drakes ‘labels and distributors’ are industry heavyweights like Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group, the New York Times revealed. The Times also said that no one from Playboy Enterprises, Universal or Drake’s camp is making any comment on the situation.

That’s probably because Drake’s worried about the injunction to halt the sale and distribution of the song that MissXpose.com mentioned this week too. Or maybe he’s just stressed about the bailiff calling him by his real name in court: ‘Would the defendant, Mr Aubrey Graham, please rise?’
