Dissident Imprint Makes Catalogue Digitally AvailableWritten by the B&B Crew Monday, 09 August 2010 09:00 News - Andy Blake's renowned Dissident imprint is making the step into the digital world. The entire back catalogue of the UK based label will be made available on Juno Download the coming months. However, there's some oddness involved here... The label's discography will only be made available in the Wav format -which isn't necessarily a bad thing- but the trouble comes in due to the fact that the releases are limited to a 100 downloads. Blake himself says about this: "The Wav only thing is simply because I think mp3s sound bad on a big soundsystem. And I guess the limited edition idea is me gently easing myself into the world of the non-physical medium by making the availability of the releases finite, like they would be with a vinyl release." We're not sure if this is a statement or just pretentious. Anyway, the first few releases will be made available from August 16 exclusively on Juno Download. The Dissident catalogue consists out of 60" EPs released between 2007 and 2009 and includes some superb house, techno, EBM and disco tunes. Artists on the roster include Mark Broom, Gatta, Fritto, Photonz and Blake himself. The news is a blessing to those who missed out on the limited one-sides 12-inches, as this gives them a new chance on getting their hands on that material.
