Comp-amp-speaker… say what?Written by the B&B Crew Wednesday, 21 April 2010 14:00 NewsUK based Orange Amplifiers announced the launch of a revolutionary all-in-one Computer Amplifier Speaker...or short the OPC. Sounds like a new type of Terminator to you? Then read on...
The OPC project seemed to be subject to heavy delay for the last several years but now seems close to completion. The all-in-one device for the digital music era is due to be released June this year. The OPC Computer Amplifier Speaker is a fully integrated computer with an internal speaker which delivers playing, recording, editing and computing possibilities to musicians and music fanatics. "This is the world first computer of its kind that you can connect yourself and your music to the digital world simply by plugging in your instrument" according to the OPC crew. It's the first PC with a built-in, high power speaker with a full range high quality sound spectrum as well as vintage guitar sounds. It's also the first computer to have a universal input jack which enables the user to plug in a wide range of instruments and devices. How ridiculous this all may sound, the computer actually is fairly powerful. It offers 4 GB DDR2 RAM, a 500 Gb HDD, an Intel Chipset, 8 USB ports, integrated WiFi and comes with Windows 7 (64bit). The PC is even equipped with a GeForce 9300 graphics card for those who want to play a game in between gigs or practice. Prices have not been announced yet, but as of June you will be able to get one of these monsters.
