Catch Trojan Soundsystem (with Red Bull Music Academy & Discovery)Written by Manu Ekanayake Thursday, 23 June 2011 15:40 News -Amazing London reggae sound Trojan are rocking down the house at The Horatia in North London, for the first in a series of bi-monthly bashes featuring big names for very little money. Discovery, the London Sunday promoters who specialise in a fine mix of disco and house, are spreading their wings from their homebase at Shoreditch’s Horse & Groom. For their next party, which is on Saturday 25th June, they’re not only moving forward from their usual end-of-the-weekend throwdowns, they’re embracing another sound too – the sound of Trojan, which for those that don’t know is some serious roots reggae and dub, which will be all the better as it’s coming out LIVE. Trojan Soundsystem formed back in 2004 to reflect the greatness of the infamous UK reggae label, which is so respected that Trojan Soundsystem members (and legendary beat-selectors) Earl Gateshead and Daddy Ad and their vocalists Superfour and Chucky Banton have rocked parties all over the world, as well as working with reggae dons like Gregory Isaacs, Horace Andy and the mighty Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. So for this party expect an ACE live set of reggae and dub, plus some dope DJing from London party crews Discovery, The Boogie Cartel, Ears Have Eyes and Hang The DJ, who'll drop house-funk-soul-disco all the way until 4am. And all this for £3 in advance… niceness indeed.
