Purveyors of the hard rocking Kuduro sound Buraka Som Sistema have announced the release of their second album Komba, which will be released next month…
The new album is said to take a few steps back from the Portuguese band’s traditional Kuduro sound, as they apparently wanted to take things to a more ‘live band’ dimension. Even if that means the album is just half as cool as their debut Black Diamond, we’re already looking forward to it. The album’s title comes from an Angolan ceremony in which the dead are honored with a seven-day party, so we may be in for a mystic encounter here as well. What’s also cool is the swagger artwork, which is among the coolest we’ve seen this year.
