Brownswood Electr*2 Showcasing Rising Bass Stars

The London based imprint Brownswood Recordings, lead by Gilles Peterson, will release Brownswood Electr*2 next month. The compilation LP showcases the sound of a few lesser known bass artists from all over the globe.

Brownswood’s idea behind this compilation series is to offer some sort of exploration and presentation of all those styles that are too easily marked as dubstep. Untold, co-founder of Hemlock, described the first edition of the series as: “a really spot-on snapshot of the grey area of ‘dance’ music that keeps getting messier.”. This new one could probably be described with exactly the same words.

On Brownswood Electr*2 you won’t come across any big names, but it presents the rising stars of today from all over the world. For an impression of the wide variety of sounds on this LP you can stream a sampler of the compilation right below. Brownswood Recordings will release Brownswood Electr*2 June 27^th.
