BnB's Last Minute London (Royal Wedding Weekend Edition)Written by Manu Ekanayake Wednesday, 27 April 2011 17:42 News -The UK is lucky enough to have another long weekend to enjoy due to the Royal Wedding, so here are BnB's tips for the weekend to come…
WANG @ Cable: Always the best electro bash in London, but this time they’ve got Detroit legends Aux 88 (pictured) alongside homegrown electro don Radioactive Man, Jon Convex from Instra:mental and Orson ‘Transparent Sounds’ Bramley playing live too. An ace way to spend a tenner..(yes, that's how much tickets are - the best bargain you'll get all weekend!) Land Of Kings Thursday session Friday 29th April Modular Presents A Royal Night Out @ XOYO: It's the label that bought us Wolfmother and Ladyhawke, back with their new picks Bag Raiders playing live, plus DJ business from Riton, Stopmakingme, In Flagranti, Monarchy and Rokk keeping it indie electro until 3am. Saturday 30th April Severino & Friends VS Beast: Severino of Horse Meat Disco shows off his skills at his own party at the cooler-than-thou Dalston Superstore. Plus there’s Seve’s HMD colleague Jim Stanton (always a show-stopper) and Rob Mello (Classic Records / The End / T Bar) too. Floating Points & I-G Culture @ Plastic People: Futuristic house master Floating Points embraces his residency at the best sounding club in town, this time with guest (and broken beat originator) I-G Culture. Sunday 1ST May Wetyourself! with Miss Kittin: It’s always a big one when Kittin is in town to play at her favoured London haunt, WYS’s main room, especially with Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin playing their Luna Live show in Room 2, alongside Perc and Sei A. HUGE doesn’t cover it… esp with WYS' London DJ friends in Room 3 too. Horse Meat with the Idjut Boys: It’s the best proper disco session in town and the Idjuts are one of the key acts behind the disco renaissance. Just go and thank us afterwards. Disco Bloodbath with Felix Dickinson: Always guaranteed good times as DBB mixes proto-house with disco, italo, pop noir and bitch trax. Serious dancefloor goodness then, especially with Felix Dickinson in the mix. secretsundaze opening with Kyle Hall and Sven Weisemann: It’s always an occasion when ss opens its doors for the summer season, but especially so for their 10th anniversary season. So enjoy some serious techno from Kyle Hall (Third Ear) and some delicious deep house from Sven Weisemann (Moujaba), plus of course the amazing ss residents James Priestley and Giles Smith. And let’s pray for some sun!
