Berlin’s Bar 25 To Close This Year

It's definite, Berlin's Bar 25 will close by the end of this year. At least at it's current location that is.

Blogger Jonty Skrufff posted a link to an article in a newspaper over the weekend which said the end of the club was near. A spokesmen from the state-ownend waste management firm that owns the land that Bar 25 holds said " Bar25 has to leave the property this year. That’s not talk, that’s what we agreed on, from both sides.”

The closure and ejection of Bar 25 is part of Berlin's biggest inverstment project, which will transform the bank of the river Spree into a media and telecoms center. The management of Bar 25 are disappointed with decision, where as they normally receive help from the Berlin authorities. “Berlin’s political representatives seemed unconcerned with sustaining the 200 seasonal jobs that Bar 25 represents,” the management said in a statement. “When it came time to provide concrete assistance, their promises, from the mayor on down, proved empty.”

Bar 25 will now look for another location but only time will tell if they will be able to find a  location which can live up to the original one.
