Beatport supports Japan with Monday’s takings

Beatport, the ever-popular electronic music selling site, has announced that they’re giving their net takings from Monday 21st March to help Japan’s earthquake and tsunami relief effort. Go on, get spending!

Japan is a place that is central to the heart of dance music; from DJs to producers and clubs to clubbers and even technology – e.g. Beatport makes a  valid point when they say that without Japanese products like the 303, the 808 and the 909, we might not even have dance music at all!

So get over there and buy some tuneage today, as Beatport is donating all their net takings (less contributions to labels and artists) to Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief, via the Amercian Red Cross (Mile High Chapter) this Monday 21st March.

FYI The actual sum donated will be taken from sales from 12:00:00 AM MT to 11:59:59 PM MT, so make sure you get your orders in during the that time if you want to help out...
