Beatport Kicks Off Umek Remix Contest

Remember the first single from Umek’s Dynamic album last year? We bet you do, the track Slap has been spinned by tons of jocks including Mark Knight, Joey Beltram, Len Faki, Mr. Howells and then some! Well, now you can try to make it even better and win yourself a sweet prize package...

Umek and 1605 are running a remix competition in cooperation with Beatport. You need to buy the original parts from Beatport, who are donating all proceeds to the Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief fund. After doing so, do your remix magic and send in your track before May 2nd. After that the public will vote for their favourites for two weeks after which Umek and the 1605 crew will pick their three favourites which will then be released on the 1605 imprint.

Besides a release on 1605 you will win a full merchandise pack as well. The best remix will win a Native Instruments Traktor Pro 2 + Traktor Kontrol X1 package, an online course in music production from Point Blank and $200 in Beatport credit. The two runner-ups will each get a copy of Native Instruments Traktor Duo 2. Pretty sweet if you ask us!
