Beastie Boys To Drop Hot Sauce In September

The Beastie Boys have announced that they hope to release their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 next September. The album was originally slated for a 2009 release, but was put on hold after band member Adam Yach got diagnosed with cancer.

"I feel better," Yauch told Entertainment Weekly. "It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back. It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not release Hot Sauce Committee Part I depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear."

However, Adam also reported that the band might make a few changes to the album in the coming months, as discussed by fellow members Mike D and Adam Horovitz: (...)we were talking about working on it a bit. We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don't think we will change it up too much."
Sure, they may not have released anything that exciting over the past few years, and they may have reached a certain point in their life on which most rappers would consider themselves oldschool but hey, it’s the friggin’ Beastie Boys!
