Bar A Bar Re-launches In Stoke Newington

Stoke Newington takes another step to becoming London’s new party central, as Bar A Bar re-launches with Brennan Green, Swayzak and friends this weekend…

Over the weekend of Friday 4th and Saturday 5th March, Bar A Bar (135 Stoke Newington Road) becomes London’s newest place to party – and the newest club in Stoke Newington, as it joins The Drop, The Nest and the Baby Bathhouse in this newly clubby part of North London.

Like we’ve said before, East London is getting harder and harder to party in due to licensing restrictions, so things are moving North as the somewhat clichéd Shoreditch scene gives rise to a selection of new, credible venues that are smaller, more intimate and much more musically varied.

Bar A Bar’s opening weekend is certainly a good example of the move away from moody minimal and not much else. Friday night sees NYC’s Brennan Green jet into town to take the controls with his disco-meets-house sounds, alongside Toby Tobias, who’s recently signed to the mighty International Feel (alongside Harvey and Felix Dickinson), plus live drums and synth from Das Volt’s Kevin Lemmonier too.

Then Saturday sees Bar A Bar's dancefloor get a bit more electronic with Swayzak, whose dubby techy sounds are joined by those of local legends Curious People from the Discovery Sunday parties at the Horse & Groom. If you like disco edits, deep house and just a touch of acid, these guys are going to do it for you. Enjoy!
