Back To The Phuture With Gary Numan And Mark Jones

Wall of Sound founder Mark Jones has announced the first instalment in the Back To The Phuture events to take place this April in Manchester. And the lineup is really something special...

Mark Jones’ Back To The Phuture is a multi-platform affair incorporating the new BTTP events, a BBC 6 radio show, the curation of Thursday nights at Bestival and an Ibizian residency. These first two events take place April 1st and 2nd at Manchester’s Academy and London’s The Troxy.

For the London event Mute Records’ godfather Daniel Miller will do an exclusive DJ-set accompanied by the hugely tipped band Mirrors. “I’m so happy to be welcoming Daniel Miller and Mirrors to the line up for the Troxy”, says Mark Jones. ”Their synthfluential sonics will open up the experience even more.”

Tickets are on sale, but if you fancy yourself a class A remixer you might want to join in on the sweet contest the guys are running. For the very first time in their career Gary Numan and John Foxx have decided to share the creative side of making music with fans. By remixing either Gary Numan’s Scanner or John Foxx & The Maths’ Shatterproof you could win yourself a pair of VIP passes to the event plus signed copies of Gary Numan’s recent Jagged Edge LP and John Foxx’s Interplay album. All entries will be judged personally by Gary and John who both will give an endorsement and play the winning remix at the Back To The Phuture events.
