An Ark For The Listener By Philip Jeck

Ambient producer Philip Jeck is renowned for his creative music production methods, and the recordings on his forthcoming new album promise to become at least as exceptional as his previous. An Ark For The Listener will be released September 28th on lauded UK Indie label Touch.

Since the early 80's Philip Jeck has been using turntables and old vinyl to extract his sounds from. His albums are remarked by a very unorthodox production just as well: take his previous album Sand for example. This one has been put together using records he found in a donation bin, supplemented with heavily affected keyboard and other found sound sources.

His new album is said to be a meditation on a passage from a 19th century poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins entitled "The Wreck Of The Deutschland". Quite conceptual again indeed...
