Alexander Robotnick Releases Analogue Album

The Analogue Session by Alexander Robotnick (and his friend Ludas Pinsky aka Lapo) is out on Monday 7th June on This Is Music. The album's been recorded live on real vintage synths, to evoke the spirit of the 70s and 80s.

Alexander Robotnick wanted to look back in order to look forward with his new album, which is why he's used real equipment from the 70s and 80s; a time he considers the heyday of modern dance music. And no wonder he thinks that, as that's when his first success, the still-amazing Problemes d'Amour was first released.

But after that bright spark in 1983, Alexander (or Maurizio Dami to use his real name) started getting interested in world music at the end of the 80s... but fear not, this album's more about his classic period. So we're talking proper electro, disco and even some early techno-style bits and pieces.

Plus it was all recorded live over a two-day session, as Alexander and Lapo rocked it on vintage kit like an Oberheim Biphonic, a Roland TB303 and a Korg Stage Echo. The even filmed their set for a limited edition DVD – proper!
