Ableton Live App Griid Is Now Available

imageGear -
A while ago we showed you some footage of Richie Hawtin fooling around with an iPad at Movement. We soon learned he was trying out some new App called Griid which he used to control his Ableton set-up. Last week Griid became available in the App store.

Griid is a controller that enables you to launch clips via your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. It simplifies the way you launch your clips to a very intuitive touch and play. Using specially developed touch object and simple gestures Griid is designed with the performance experience in mind.

You can easily navigate your set, and the visual feedback coming from the app offers you all the information you need. All clips, names and colors will be the same as in your Ableton Live project.. Combine all this with the magic of wireless operation and you basically won't need the screen of your laptop anymore during gigging.

Another great feature of Griid is the way it offers you an overview of your set. If you're an Ableton user, we're sure you experienced that moment that you know you compiled a great set, but it all became a bit too complex and emssy to navigate your way through it. The Griid overview function allows you to zoom out until you have a bird eye view of your whole set with all parts reduced to tiny rectangles. You can then simply navigate to the part you want to play by simply touching the screen of your device. Sweet.
Griid is available in three flavours, check out the table below to see which one suits you...
