Acclaimed Dutch dubstep/experimental producer Dave Huijsmans aka 2562 will release his third longplayer Fever on April 4th. Looks like we’ll be getting to hear something completely different that we’re used from the man…
Then again, Dave –who hails from The Hague but now resides in Berlin- has never focused on a single genre only. As 2562, he has been releasing a handful of very exciting dubstep-ish EPs as well as the critically acclaimed Aerial album, while his releases as Dogdaze and A Made Up Sound monikers are more cross-over mutations of various genres.
This new album, however, is said to be a full-on disco affair, or “a thorough reinterpretation of underground disco music from the mid seventies to the early eighties, with his own birth year 1979 as the gravitational point.” What’s interesting is that the album has been produced without the use of synthesizers, drum machines or… well any instrument at all really, as all sounds have been sampled from existing disco samples. Must have been one hell of a job…
Fever will be spread through 2562's recently launched When In Doubt label on April 4th.
