Italian DJ producer Tboy, known to his Mum and Dad as Antonio Colantuoni, has been steadily rising on the underground electronic scene of late. Not only an engaging DJ behind the decks, Tboy has also already garnered a lofty reputation for his output from within the studio walls. Having previously worked on music for advertising and television, the Italian is now translating his technical knowledge into his biggest passion, deep and groovy house and techno. He’s already amassed a tight collection of EP for respected underground labels such as Ware Records, Neim and Akbal Music and has a flurry of new productions set to drop throughout this summer. Now residing in London, Tboy is fully immersed within a potent scene, regularly making appearances at hotspots across the capital. Having forged

He’s one of France’s best known musical exports and a fixture in the international house and techno community for years: we're talking Olivier Raymond aka Oxia, one of the brightest stars on the soulful techno firmament. Along with likeminded country mates Agoria, Nicolas Masseyeff and Rone, Oxia is responsible for putting the lush and delicate sound of French emotive house and techno on the map, having agrnered a worldwide following in the process.

With a discography that dates back to the mid-nineties, Oxia slowly developed himself into a highly diverse artists whose music stretches further than just plain club grooves only.
He’s been with the label since the very beginning and has been releasing quite a few heavy house music hitters ever since. It’s San Francisco's Justin Martin, one of the most popular artists on Claude vonStroke’s Dirtybird label, and he’s about to unleash his very first album in the form of Ghettos & Gardens. Now, if you’ve been following this rooster over the past few years, you’re probably aware of the fact that he (along with the rest of the Dirtybird posse) doesn’t take himself too seriously. His releases, in that sense, reflects his personality as the fun factor never seems to be far away. Weird twists, oddly shaped melodies and genre-blurring sounds are the main ingredients for his music.

Ghettos & Gardens has become pretty much what we expected from a DJ such as Justin Martin. A melting pot in which a wide variety

Whereas the label used to be a prolific vendor of electro-tinged cuts, Tiga’s Turbo Recordings imprint has slowly evolved into a platform for frenetic, high-quality (electro-)house and techno with an experimental twist. Fresh from dropping a handful of EPs by new signees over the past few months, the lauded Canadian label now presents the New Jack Techno compilation as a preview of what’s going to shake your local club and festival in coming months…

New Jack Techno collects both familiar names as acts that may not have reached international recognition yet, making it a very diverse and adventurous compilation even before the play button is hit. The compilation opens with the deep and druggy Iron & Water by dark house honchos Gingy & Bordello, after which we get to hear a bunch of more experimental material in the form of Locked Groove bumpy hips-and-ass-moving ghetto funk track

Apart from containing a very organic, multi-faceted electronic sound, his music also contains a fair dose of live instrumentals, all of which are played by the man himself. Civilization is the result of two years of studying the dynamics of electronic music and heavy studio lockdown, and has become a very intriguing and utterly diverse piece of work. Fluctuating between bass, dark techno, hip-hop, house and dancehall minimalism and a variety of moods and atmospherics too, the album as a whole fits in perfectly in today’s genre-crossing electronic music, but it’s safe to say that Civilization also sheds a new light on this sound.

One of the major pitfalls in crafting such music is a lack of balance, and it requires great skill to produce a coherent album without
