The Smashing Pumpkins’ Smashing SuccessWritten by Carmen Garza ![]() One could accurately describe The Smashing Pumpkins' December 8, 2010 concert at the Ovations Live Showroom at the Wild Horse Pass Casino, Chandler, Arizona, as subdued confidence. Understandably so, since The Pumpkins have forever earned their place in contemporary music amongst their peers such as Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Jane’s Addiction. A ready for action Billy Corgan (singer/guitarist) jammed with his newly united brood of talented players: looking so much like the original guitar player, Jeff Schroeder, Mike Byrne playing with no abandon on drums, and an easy on the eyes Nicole Fiorentino on bass guitar. Each musician contributed with all their heart and soul creating a night of musical perfection. What began as a set of newly released songs only a devout Smashing Pumpkins fan would know soon transitioned into a concert complete with their top 40 hits from their award winning albums, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Siamese Dream as well as recent released tunes from their EP, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. Check out some of the tunes that were heard that night by reading the band’s partial setlist below: Bullet with Butterfly Wings Make no mistake. Whether you're on board or not, The Smashing Pumpkins are back, and they're ready to continue their legacy by touching our hearts while leaving their imprint on the world of music.
