Surrounded by a packed house and rousing applause, indie/alternative rockers - The Lonely Forest - astonished guests with their refreshing set at Phoenix, Arizona’s Rhythm  Room on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.  The band was formed in 2005 in the town of Anacortes, Washington located approximately an hour and a half NW of Seattle.

While most assembled people were present to see the headlining act (The Joy Formidable), there was no doubt of the infectious enthusiasm that filled the cozy venue while this young band performed with passion and grace.  John Van Deusen - lead singer/guitarist/keyboardist, along with the rest of The Lonely Forest (Eric Sturgeon - bassist, Bradyn Krueger - drummer, and Tony Ruland - lead guitarist) rocked the night away with foot stomping songs and soothing ballads to showcase their diversity in musicianship.

Some of the songs performed by The Lonely Forest that evening were:  the exciting “Woe Is Me, I Am Ruined”, the heartfelt “Coyote” which is a song dedicated to John’s parents who met and fell in love in Phoenix and the ever popular tunes “We Sing In Time” and “I Don’t Want To Live There”.

The Lonely Forest are currently on a North American tour, sharing concert dates as the opening act with Death Cab For Cutie and The Joy Formidable, while promoting their latest album, Arrows.  Their over the top energy and easy to understand lyrics are only part of The Lonely Forest’s growing appeal as they turn their band name into a household word.  They are definitely well on their way to headlining tours in the very near future.  Check out this amazing sensation at http://www.thelonelyforest.com/.
