PollerWiesen M-NUS Edition
Written by Marijn van Laerhoven

Each summer, the PollerWiesen crew throws a series of intimate open air festivals and exciting boat parties. For the first time in 2010, they teamed up with M-NUS. After a very successful first edition, last weekend saw a second M-NUS open air party in the Neulandpark in Leverkusen, Germany.

Location
After another bus journey with fellow ravers from the Netherlands we arrived at the Neulandpark in Leverkusen well on time. In fact, we were one of the first people to arrive. The buhne was still pretty much clear of people, but that was about to change. During the day, many likeminded fans of the M-NUS label would come out to Leverkusen, just near the beautiful city of Cologne. The Neulandpark a green field with a nicely decorated stage that had Pollerwiesen written all over it.

Music
M-NUS is our favorite label and amongst the lineup are some of our favorite artists but we'll say this; one downside of being so into this specific music is that you've kinda all heard it before. So honestly, music wise there weren't many big surprises. Magda, Gaiser, Marco and Richie, they just did their thing. The thing they do best; Magda playing downtempo minimal; Gaiser live with his characteristic bass lines; Marco throwing bombs and Richie raising the tempo. Does that make it bad? Absolutely not, the crowd loved it and so did we.
Floor 1:
11:00 – 13:00 Barem
13:00 – 15:00 Magda
15:00 – 17:00 Marco Carola
17:00 – 18:00 Gaiser LIVE
18:00 – 22:00 Richie Hawtin
Floor 2:
12:00 – 14:00 Joey Daniel
14:00 – 16:00 David Hasert
16:00 – 18:00 Heidi
18:00 – 21:00 Butch
Crowd
The crowd today was great. People from Germany, Italy and Holland (and I'm sure a few other countries were represented also) were having a good time together. Dancing around, or relaxing in the field. After all, it was a beautiful day today and the sun finally showed its face. In fact, we'd return homewards with a sunburn. But dance they did too; Gaiser, Marco and Richie in particular made the crowd go nuts.
Conclusion
For a very sharp ticket price the Pollerwiesen crew offers some fine festivals. Great musically wise and more intimate due to its smaller crowds (but still plenty of people) and fewer floors as compared to the bigger festivals around. Download the PollerWiesen App to your iPhone or iPad and stay in touch for updates about their upcoming events. The next Pollerwiesen will be on Sunday 14th of August at the Jugendpark in Cologne. Amongst the lineup are Chris Liebing, Tobi Neumann, Fritz Kalkbrenner (live) and Âme.
