X-Press2 - Opulence / Down The Whole

imageEP Review
What can you possibly say about X-Press2  that hasn’t been said before? They’ve been supplying us with a-grade dancefloor material for nearly 20 years now, they’ve been signed to the massive Skint label for a decade, and they got a brand new EP coming up in July. Any good?

‘course it is! The Opulence / Down The Whole EP sees the boys delivering another ace EP oozing with floor destruction potential. Tehre’s four track’s here: two full club versions and two short club versions. Life can be so simple. The full club version of Opulence is a stomping, triba-inspired house stomper supported by fierce rocking beats and a plethora of drum sounds, with mean absslines and staccato keys giving the tune a suave tech-touch. The vox samples work really well and the way all sounds are programmed guarantees one thing and one thing only: madness…

Down The Whole is a red hot, four-to-the-floor house jacker with a punchy rhythm and simply irresistible drums that make up a highly energetic cut.  A very uptempo tune fueled by a nasty injection of bottled energy and a sure shot to any DJ.

We’ve yet to hear a disappointing release by X-Press2. This EP confirms the outfit’s skills for making filthy rocking tunes. Recommended.
