Wiretappeur - Everybody Loves Ice Cream EP

imageProg/House -

Wiretappeur are steadily adding great tunes to the progresisve house canvas as evidenced by their recent output for John Digweed's Bedrock label. They now return to this very label with a new EP called Everybody Loves Ice Cream which is backed up with an additional remixes from Dessous' Vincenzo.

The original mix of the title track has become one of those utterly deep tunes that has the Bedrock stamp all over it. After a rather basic start, the track soon enough builds up to warm glowing synths, reverb bass and a load of fx to keep things spacey at all times. Topped with disco eleemnts here and there, this tune marks the perfect play for late summer beach parties. Vincenzo's remix is a bit darker versio that's obviously made with the club in mind. It has all the original synths from the original, but tends to sound even more disco-y. A worthy remix. Closing the EP is Furry Walls, a vintage sounding tech-house-styled track with loads of cool and oriignal percussion sounds, organ bass and a nice overall vibe.

Our verdict:
Bedrock fanatics can purchase this EP without listening to it first. It's nothing we haven't heard before, but that doesn't make it any less good.
