Völlmer and Brendel - Influenze (Lust Und Freu.de)

imageHouse -

Völlmer and Brendel release their debut single Influenze on the Lust Und Freu.de. label from Cologne, Germany. Included in the package are remixes by Someone Else and Antonio Olivieri. Here’s what we think.

Opening the release is the Someone Else remix of Influenze. His rework is a well built take on stripped-down tech house, tied together with thumping kicks and fx. The song basically consists of looped parts with a sublte twist here and there and that’s it. Although well produced, there’s not much action to be heard on this track... its repetitive vibe might work better in clubs though. Up next is Olivieri’s remix, which is a warmer and more melodic reshape with a progressive touch. The fx in the background are a nice extra.

The original version closes the EP and this is where the money’s at. Numerous vocal snippets, well layered percussion and a plethora of twists make this a very, very catchy track that will definitely cause havoc in the clubs. The tail’s the stinger here, so it seems.

Although the remixes let down, the original mix of Influenze is a fat little kicker with a superb production. Go for that one if you have the choice.
