Subb-An - What I Do EP

imageEP Review -
Emerging talent Subb-An signs up for Culprit's eleventh release, which has become a gentle fuse of Chicago deep house and warm funky elements.

Title track What I Do is a stripped-down piece of retro Chicago house driven by punchy kicks and deep bass whilst gradually building up to a very well programmed breakdown made up from subtle keys. A very moody piece of house music, but definitely worth your dough.

My Slang is a slightly more rhythmic affair and incorporates a bass riddle that would not look bad in any early 90s house tune. The fx swirls and pulsating groove form a powerful combination, with the track's overall repetitive character doing the business once more.

Closing track No One's the real gem on this EP. Again we get to hear a warm but rather basic rhythm and the oldschool bass play, but the evolving groove on this baby has what it takes to make ya sweat.

Subb-An's latest release will arrive just in time to add it to your X-mas wish list. If you've been a good boy, Santa's only option is to get you this badass EP.
