Sian - Dreams Are Maps EP

imageProg/Techno -

It's one of the biggest prog house bombs of this moment and after its inclusion on John Digweed's Structures compilation, it now gets a full EP release on Bedrock Digital...

Sian's regarded as one of the most promising techno artists in todays scene, which is undoubtedly the result of his mass appealing yet still quite underground fuse of techno and progressive. In that sense, the Dreams Are Maps EP is no exception. We already recognised it as being one of the hottes tunes on JD's brilliant Structures compilation, so it was only a matter of time before an EP would emerge. And what an EP is has become: next to the original mix you get two heavy remixes by Paul Woolfoord plus an additional Treasure mix by Sian himself.

The Original Mix is an incredibly vivid take on roaring progressive house. Opening with an Italo disco-influenced bassline and likewise percussion, the tune gradually builds up to a massive clash of screaming synths, thick layers of fx and an overwhelming overall vibe with the continously evolving bassline making this one a very dynamic rocker. Paul Woolford's Waxed Treatment remixed is a real heavy stomper with an intense bassline paving the way for a sizzling fuse of techy drums that support the original synth & pad elements. Wooly's second rework -the Waxed Out Dub) is a hypnotized version of its predecessor, yet equally stunning. Last one up is the energetic Treasure mix by Sian himself which is a very DJ friendly tech-house reshape with a funky additional bassline and fashionable club groove.

Conclusion: Huge EP! The original alone is worth every penny, but the three mixes make it all the more awesome.
