Sasha Carassi - Hypercombo (Drumcode)

imageTechno -
Drumcode's, the Swedish home to all things techno have been releasing huge EPs over the past few months, and this next one by Italy's Sasha Carassi is no exception...

Sasha Carassi
hails from Naples, Italy and certainly is no newcomer to the game. He has been steadily releasing tech chunks for the past eight years,w hile his own Globox label is well established in the scene too. Adam Beyer's been a fan for years, hence this release on Beyer's own Drumcode.

It's back to good old fashioned techno on this gem! Sasha serves no less than five tracks and every single one of them kicks like a mule. Opening tune Minerals comes crashing in with bulldozer beats while mean bass growls, steady hi-hats and soaring fx form the rest of its basis. Great breakdown, powerful climax, rock solid tune. Hypercombo is more straight-forward but definitely at least as rough as its predecessor, while Cubic Combo turns to the industrial side of things for a serious dose of big room techno. Diamond is a Speedy J-ish rocker with dark, throbbing fx interwoven in its structure, after which the pitchblack, haunting Spectrogram closes the EP with a no-nonsense vibe and utterly genius fx programming.

Sasha Carassi delivers a package full of dark stomping techno for the demanding DJ. All five tunes on this EP offer great value for money and will be rocking your decks for months to come.
