Robert Babicz - Pink Trees EP (Bedrock)Written by Youri Jozee House/Progressive - Two tracks on this baby, the first one being the title track. Although very much a continuation of Babicz' adopted progressive sound, this tune is much more gentle and subtle than his previous releases. The melodics are very emotive and at some points remind of Gui Boratto, especially when the beautifully layered keys in the middle come in. No less than absolutely stunning. On the flip side we find Percofonik, a much more powerful track for the big rooms fueled by rumbling kicks and nasty synth stabs. The build-up is solid but nothing too much out of the ordinary, and it's the introduction of nasty growling bass that gives this track its merit. Although still above average, the track does lack the grandeur of this EP's title track. The title track would definitely our weapon of choice on this EP. Percofonik's an efficient club destroyer, but it's the mesmerizing atmosphere of Pink Trees that got us all excited. In other words: Babicz delivers again. Rating: 7.7/10 Label: Bedrock Release date: Out now Tracklist: 1. Pink Trees 2. Percofonik
