Prog - Robert Babicz' latest venture into the realms of spaced out progressive is backed up by remixes by Tom Middleton, Wehbba, Ricky Ryan & Vipul.
Robert Babicz' has been steadily churning out tracks over 2011, and pretty much all of them have been of high quality. His latest piece of work is no different. The Day mix of Beautiful is a stunning mix of tech-housy beats and utterly mesmerizing synth and string layers. The breakdown serves as a bridge, turning the track from relatively laidback to more energetic. A track that definitely lives up to its name. The Night mix is a slightly darker and trippier version, while Prepare Yourself takes a more minimalistic route to deliver the shiver. After a rather long intro, the track eventually blossoms into a haunting tech/prog track marked by subtle pattern movements.
Tom Middleton's remix of Beautiful is a very colourful version that stays true to its original form but contains several very well constructed layers to form a great composition, while Wehbba drops an epic, synth-fueled floorfiller with a massive climax. Closing the EP are Ricky Ryan & Vipul, whose remix starts off rather dull but soon transforms into a lovely tech house track with smooth melodies and fx.
Our verdict:
Real good stuff. The original mix is amazing, but the remixes are at least just as good. In other words, a great selection of tracks that you'll definitely love if you're into the proggier side of electronic music.
