Psycatron - People In Glass Houses

imageTechno -
Psycatron are back, this time on the mighty Tresor label with a three-track EP reflecting their punchy prog sounds.

“We wanted to try something on a slightly dubbier tip than our usual fare and had been listening to lots of old European techno from the early 90's at the time," say Psycatron. The EP has been produced as a typical Classic Maxi 12"(meaning that all three tracks are mere edits instead of all new remixes). Overall speaking, its content is even more hypnotising and techno-flavoured than the duo's earlier material, but it's still unmistakably Psycatron. The A-side holds the Lateral Thinker cut of the original mix, which is a deep, stripped-down techno groove produced 'for the tougher floors'.  The original mix of People In Glass Houses is a beefy progressive house tune with typical techno elements and storming synth waves on top, with the end result being a dark but very powerful basement tune, while the Channel Basic Tool is a trippy all-melody-no-beats edit.

Our verdict:
A very original and captivating release, this one. The original mix is great, but so are the two remi... er edits. A job well done.
