Omid 16B - Rain / Passion For Zorro

Veteran DJ/producer/songwriter Omid '16B' Nourizadeh turns to Bedrock for his latest EP Rain / Passion Of Zorro.






Rain was written after a 60-date tour with the SOS outfit, of which Omid has been part for many years. The track is a fine example of Omid's trademarked sound: uptempo, beefy progressive riddled with house elements. The tune builds up to a climaxing first break after which the track turns to the darker side of things with growling synths and bass as its melodic facets. The breakdown in the middle is very, very lengthy but very well programmed, after which the slamming climax turns the track into a hardcore floorfiller.

Passion Of Zorro opens with minimal-esque percussion rattles but soon enough evolves into a powerful prog/tech track with VERY well placed twists in its rhythm. The melodies in the middle add a nice hypnotizing flavour to the mix, making this one another winner.

Our verdict:
Omid's latest release shows again why he's still one of our fave producers. This EP packs a serious punch, bathes in crossover potential, and is marked by a fantastic overall production. Two thumbs up!
