Octave One - Revisited Series IIWritten by Youri Jozee Techno - Sweet Jesus on a golden unicycle, sometimes the amount of coolness on one EP is enough to make the universe implode and I do swear I felt a slight vacuum surrounding me the moment I hit the play button. Because ladies and gentlemen, you're gonna love this one. Octave One, 430 West, Transmat, I Believe, Daystar Rising, Sandwell District and Aril Brikha all in one package, there's not much that can go wrong here can it? And it doesn't. Men-of-the-moment Sandwell District delivers a swampy, sweaty and utterly deep techno jam stripped of all shenanigans. Starting off quite minimal, the track slowly builds up to a hypnotizing middle part with druggy vocals, synth waves and heavy hitting hi-hats. Freakin' AWESOME! Aril Brikha delivers one of his trademarked belters in the form of a playful and very uplifting house/techno crossover that has all the man's signature synth melodics and bass layers. What we get to hear is nothing short from pure dancefloor hysteria, although the track itself is remarked stays subtle throughout its entire playtime. A very convincing and catchy track that will do more than well on the floor. A diamond EP recommended to house and tech afficionados the world over. Both remixes are extremely well put together and add their own flavour to the legendary originals. If this one doesn't give you goosebumps, I suggest you go see a doctor. Rating: 8.9/10 Label: 430 West Release date: January 31st, 2011 Tracklist: 1. I Believe (Sandwell District remix) 2. Daystar Rising (Aril Brikha remix)
