Marc Romboy - The Overture (+ Egbert Remix)

Tech-houseWe’re always excited when new Tronic releases drop on the doormat. The latest outing on the label comes from systematic label boss Marc Romboy and features a remix by Dutch Secret Cinema-protégé Egbert.
The title track is a pretty dark workout with threatening synths and oldschool sounding percussion structures, while its various layers of synths and drums turn it into a continually climaxing monster as the track proceeds. Things get extra messy near the end with the addition of a growling electro bassline. Egbert’s remix is much proggier and way less electro than the original mix, but at least as solid. Relying on fuzzy layers of sounds and a series of somewhat odd, this tune forms a quality counterpart with a few very cool twists.
Our verdict:
We’re starting to lose track of the number of hot releases Tronic keeps spoiling us with, but this is simply another one that’s worth your attention.
