Lunn & Latham - Electric

imageProgreesive -
Dance music veteran Pete Lunn and Simon Latham team up for a brand new 5-track EP on the Airport Route label.

After having conquered floors worldwide with their Soundsation alias in the nineties, this EP marks a fresh new start for the seasoned trance music artists after a twelve year hiatus. First up is title track Electric, a chunky tune that opens with an evil electro bassline but slowly transforms into a hypnotising trancer with Simon's vocals matching very well with the somewhat melodramatic instrumentals. The next track, Chasing The Impossible, sounds a bit more like the new Chicane, with breaks and epic keys being as its basis.

The Water turns to the ethereal yet sparkling side of chill-out, while the nervous breaks and overwhelming synths in Time Moves On reminisce of Hybrid's productions. Great track, very well produced. Closing the EP is the uptempo and very spacey drum 'n bass-esque tune of Virtual boy, which sounds like a soundtrack to a high-speed racing video game. Awesome stuff.

Our verdict:
The Electric EP is a very interesting EP for fans of spacey, somewhat leftfield trance, progressive and breaks. All tunes feature a crisp clear production, but also contain a serious load of twists and turns that will bring clubbers the world over to their knees.
